Double Stops or Flat Flams

The Exercises: Both sticks playing at the same time maintaing parallel stick heights.

The Point : to strengthen both hands and pull the wearker hand into better
alignment with the dominant hand, to perfect your grip, and develop accuracy.

Benefits: Strong even single stroke rolls, easier flam execution and improved accuracy.

Visual Focus: Stick Heights. Make sure sticks heights are even, during both
double stops and singles. During Doubles Stops make sure both stick are level and hit the drum at
the same time with the sam amout of force. During Singles/Alternating focus on both sticks coming
up to the same height and moving evenly. During Flams lower the left stick for rigth flams and the
right stick for left flams. Exaggerate the difference between the stick heights of the grace note and
the primary note. Experiment with the opening and closing your flams.
